anne hallorhan was a young woman of
25. she had brown straight hair.
she wore her hair short. cut just below her ear.

she made her way to the nurse's station and smiled
at betty the nurse on duty.

where were you anne, chief nurse drexel was looking for
you.

did you cover for me, anne asked.

sure, i covered for you. said you went tot he ladies
room and be back in a minute.

ok, thanks. i owe you.

no problem. but you better watch it.

yeah, all right.

anne had two careers.
she had come out of high school and gone
right into nursing. it took her two years
and she had become a registered nurse. it made
her mother happy. but anne wanted other things.
her three brothers were cops and that's what she
really wanted to do. she wanted to be a cop.

so, two years out of nursing school and two years
into nursing at st. vincent's she had enrolled and
took the police test.

she had passed.
and had graduated second in her class.

she had been called by nick harper out of her
graduating class and said they had a special
assignment for her since she met the qualifications.

what qualifications were those anne had asked quizically

well, it has to do with your background as a nurse.

we need someone to infiltrate st. vincent's hospital and
find out what is going on over there

well, there have been a few disapperances in the town of
craggsport and we think the hospital has something to do
