i was thinking about what i am writing, i am not that enamored by it,
but will write something on it each day for the month of november.
sort of reminds me of alice and oz, they both took a trip.

anywayyyyyy--

fonca and speed said goodbye to the group in the park and
continued their walk down Flowers Street.

It was summer here and everything was green.
Fonca could see why they called this street Flowers Street.
there were flowers everywhere.

especially roses.

there were purple roses
and yellow roses.

there were orange roses
and lavendar roses.

there were pink roses
and roses of tinted colors.

fonca stopped at one house and
looked at the garden. these roses
were green and their leaves were pink.

most amazaing said fonca.
truly said speed in all my life i have never
seen roses colored like this.

what is this place said speed?

i don't know but where ever it is they like flowers.

this house was a little different than the others.
it was three story.
the rest of the houses on the street were a neat
one story. they all had curtains on the window. and
either a blue or yellow front door. the rest of the
house was white.

but this house was pink and purple. and the front door
was green and orange polka dots.

hmm, said fonca i wonder who lives here.

well, said speed we could ring the doorbell.

shall we said fonca.

let's said speed.

the two opened the gate which was black cast iron and
closed it quietly behind them.

they walked the small flagstone path to the house and walked
bravely up the five brick steps.

when they got to the landing they each stopped for a second,
and in unison they both looked at each other.

well, said speed.
well, said fonca.

here we are, said speed.
yes, here we are said fonca.

why do i get an uneasy feeling about this said fonca.

well, said speed in wisdom beyond his eight months of
life maybe because it is the unknown.

the unknown said fonca.

yes, said speed.

what do you mean said the young girl.

well, speed said thoughtfully we truthfully don't
know who lives here. we don't know if they will
like us and we don't know if they want to bothered
by two travelers.

that is true said fonca a concentrated look on her
face.

and speed continued but if we don't ring the bell we
will never know if we missed the adventure of our life.

yes, that is true said fonca.

remember what the old woman said.

what old woman said fonca.

oh, that's right you were busy watching the young girl
amy and didn't pay too much attention to this old woman
that passed us by. she called me over and said she had
something to give me.

what did she give you said fonca.

well, she just said it was one of four sayings and she
was delivering the first message.

how come you didn't tell me said fonca.

i forgot said speed.

all right, well, tell me what she said before you forget again, said fonca.

speed squeezed his eyes tight for a second and thought real hard
he wanted to get the old woman's exact words.
speed opened his eyes and said in a rush the old woman said to give up your desire for safety and security. that was it and then she was gone.
i meant to tell you but then we got caught up with that group in the
park and i forgot.

are you sure that is what she said, safety and security
i am sure said speed.

safety and security, murmured fonca.
she said it again softly and let the words
roll over her tongue and seep into her mind.

give up my desire for safety and security,
hmm said fonca, what strange words

well, that's what she said, said speed

Fronca's small hand was about to press the round black
bell which was the form of a jelly bean when the door
opened and a small pup ran out and down the brick steps.

a young girl of seven came to the front door
laughing and giggling, pup wait for me she yelled
and paying no attention to fonca and speed she
too ran and jumped down the stairs.

fonca stepped back as the girl passed her
and speed let out a small roar.

just then a woman came to the door. she held a baby in her arms
of about ten months, she glanced at the two on her landing
and yelled at the young girl on the path.

amy, be careful.

amy said fonca to herself.

the woman turned toward fonca and said, yes, her name is amy.

wait a minute said fonca i didn't say that
out loud.

no, you didn't said the young woman smiling,
do you want to come in she said to the duo

fonca barely had time to say, yes
when the young woman motioned the two to follow her.

but speed stood still, hesitating on the porch
he didn't know if it was polite etiquette for a young
lion cub to come into a stranger's house,
he didn't know if the young woman's invitation included him.

the young woman turned toward speed and smiled
kindly
yes, that includes you too speed. you are welcome in my house.
i have been expecting you both.
